Your next best option is to get to know people who are already working with cats. Many of them are members of the WILDCATS email list. If you see a wild cat and think there might be a problem, you can contact your state department of Fish and Wildlife. We sure don't mind hearing your sighting stories, but we don't keep any records on local sightings.
