Iranian Cheetah Society (ICS) is a non-profit group in Iran whose goal is to save the Asiatic cheetah (Acinonyx jubatus venaticus). Asiatic cheetahs have been wiped out everywhere else, so the ICS has taken on an absolutely vital role in cheetah conservation.
ICS monitoring efforts have lead to documentation of the Cheetah in Iran, both adults and cubs, as well as the Asian Steppe Cat (Felis sylvestris ornata), and the Caracal (Caracal caracal).
Hands down, my favorite feature on their web site is the news about their field work. The site has some good basic information about cheetahs as well as a nice little photo gallery, but the updated news is what really makes the web site exciting and well worth a browser bookmark. I sincerely hope the ICS is able to continue their web site in this vein.
The only down side is that the static cover page initially hides the dynamic information underneath. I did also run in to a few broken links, but nothing serious enough to discourage me from visiting again.
